OUR STORY

My husband and I fell in love with Pastrana twenty years ago.  It was a major decision to quit our baking careers in London for this rural village of 850 inhabitants, but it was the ideal location in which to start a family.  We bought a house in the Historic Quarter and took two years to restore it before completing the move. Having chosen Pastrana for its beauty, we were astounded at how the ‘Pastraneros’ welcomed us into their community, even more so when our two children were born.

Already fluent in Spanish, I became increasingly involved in village life, running the Parents’ Association for ten years and then being elected as Deputy Mayor from 2019-2023.  Pastrana is a popular wedding destination due to its well-preserved medieval charm, as well as its proximity to Madrid, and I was asked to perform civil marriage ceremonies as a member of the local government, especially in the case of English speaking groups who were delighted to be offered a bilingual ceremony. We continue to feel privileged to have found this hidden gem in Spain and would love for you to choose Pastrana as the venue for your very special day.
